Abstract
Ischemic optic neuropathy (ION) is a relatively common cause of acute, painless, unilateral loss of vision in older adults. Bilateral and simultaneous ION rarely occurs, especially associated with trauma. Most cases of bilateral ION are associated with major surgeries, such as spinal cord or cardiac bypass. It is an uncommon surgical complication, so the majority of the reports are case or case series. To the best of our knowledge, no previous case of ION related to hypotension after stab wound in the neck has been reported. We describe a patient with bilateral blindness with ION after neck injury.
